AtlasTherapy

How many sessions do you need, and when do results show?

One of the most common questions before booking. The short answer is one main treatment and one follow-up. The longer answer, on what to expect and when, is below.

How many sessions do you need, and when do results show?

In short: Most clients need one main atlas correction and one follow-up check. Head rotation and leg length usually change within the session. Deeper complaints such as migraine, back pain and fatigue improve over four to twelve weeks as the body adapts, often after a short period in which old aches briefly return. A repeat treatment is only needed after a new heavy impact.

Why one treatment is usually enough

Atlas Zone Therapy releases the muscles that hold the atlas out of position. Once they release and the atlas settles, there is nothing pulling it back. That is the difference from approaches that move the vertebra without releasing the muscles, which need repeating. Dr. Wim's experience over 10,000 clients is that one main treatment usually repositions the atlas. The follow-up check confirms it.

What changes when

TimeframeWhat clients typically notice
During the sessionNeck feels longer and freer, head turns further, leg length evens out on the table, sometimes a striking sense of relaxation under the skull
First 1 to 3 daysTiredness, deep sleep, sometimes a headache or a return of old aches as the body reorganises
Weeks 1 to 4Old complaints come and go, generally milder each time; posture and sleep improve; energy starts to return
Weeks 4 to 12Migraine frequency and intensity typically reduce; back and neck pain settle; other treatments work better
Months 3 to 12Body continues adapting to a straighter posture; many clients describe feeling 'more themselves'

The follow-up check

Scheduled within four to eight weeks of the main treatment. Dr. Wim re-checks the atlas, leg length and rotation and reviews what has changed. For most clients this is the last appointment. If the atlas has shifted, for example after a fall in between, it is treated again in the same visit.

When is a further treatment needed?

Some clients choose an annual check simply for reassurance. It is not required.

What if nothing changes?

If the atlas was not the cause of your complaint, the correction will not resolve it, and Dr. Wim will say so at the intake if he sees that the atlas is well positioned. Where the atlas was rotated, some improvement is almost always seen, but the extent varies with how long the compensation existed and what else is going on in your life and body. Honest expectations are part of the treatment.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to come back every year?

No. Once the atlas has held at the follow-up it generally stays. Some clients choose an annual check, but it is optional.

Can I have two treatments close together?

Not usually. The body needs weeks to adapt after the first correction. The follow-up is deliberately scheduled four to eight weeks later.

Why do some people feel worse before better?

Old patterns of compensation that existed for years cannot change in days. Pain that returns briefly is the body reorganising. Read after the treatment.
