The energy cost of compensation
People with chronic fatigue often face doubt from those around them and even from health professionals, which makes it harder to get help. The atlas offers a physical explanation for a share of these cases. When the atlas is rotated, the body compensates with leg and arm length differences, pelvic tilt and continuous muscle tension. These compensations consume a great deal of energy. If that energy becomes available for restoring normal health, people quickly feel fitter.
What the treatment does and does not do
The Atlas Zone treatment does not target fatigue directly. It corrects the atlas and the zone around it, which directly affects whole-body functioning because the person no longer has to compensate. Dr. Wim is clear that the correction need not be 'the' answer to chronic fatigue. It helps you get closer to yourself and find out more consciously which path you need to take, whether that involves lifestyle change, nutrition, coaching or addressing emotional and relational strain. His own recommendation, after 50 years of research into it, is Transcendental Meditation as a way of gradually becoming aware of the real causes.
Clients often notice
- More energy in the afternoon, less need to lie down
- Deeper sleep and waking more refreshed
- Less brain fog and easier concentration
- Other treatments and supplements starting to work better
Fibromyalgia, numbness and tingling
Numbness and tingling without a clear cause are often grouped under fibromyalgia. The Atlas Zone practice sees good results with fibromyalgia, not by treating the symptom but by improving the connection between the head and the rest of the body. As Dr. Wim puts it, a 'second element' is introduced that lets fresh air blow through long-standing complaints.
